Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel from intensivecarehotline.com with another quick tip for families in intensive care.
So, today’s tip is about a lady that’s saying, “Look, my mom has been in ICU for a couple of weeks. She’s had pneumonia and she’s now in sepsis. The ICU team says that it’s only two ways forward, (a), is to do a tracheostomy or (b), is to do palliative care and end-of-life.” And the lady’s asking me, “Are there any other options?”
And the good news is, there are other options. So, do a tracheostomy and worst-case scenario is, your mom can’t be weaned off the ventilator, then she can go home with Intensive Care at Home.
So, go to intensivecareathome.com and check out our website, how we provide services for ventilated adults and children with tracheostomies at home.
That is my quick tip for today.
If you have a loved one in intensive care, go to intensivecarehotline.com. Call us on one of the numbers on the top of the website or send us an email to [email protected].
And also check out our other website, intensivecareathome.com if you have a loved one on a ventilator, with a tracheostomy, and you want to take your loved one, adults and children, home.
Also, go to intensivecaresupport.org and have a look at our membership for families in intensive care. That’s again at intensivecaresupport.org, we have a membership for families in intensive care.
If you need a review of medical records for your loved one in intensive care or after intensive care, go and contact us for a medical record review.
