Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel, from intensivecarehotline.com with another quick tip for families in intensive care.
So currently with this pandemic and COVID-19 crisis all around the world looming and happening, we have a lot of inquiries at intensivecarehotline.com where families in intensive care are locked out of ICU, just simply because there’s COVID patients in ICU so the risk for families getting infected is high.
But number two, also families could potentially bring in COVID-19 into the ICU. So there’s a risk on both ends that needs to be managed. And unfortunately, ICU’s haven’t found a better way of locking people out. Now that brings its own challenges because, you know, not only are their loved ones in ICU without family support.
The other challenge is it’s much more difficult for families in intensive care to get information and get accurate and timely information. So, and this is where we can help at intensive care hotline, we can (a) set you up with the right questions or (b) talk to the doctors and nurses directly and ask the right questions.
So the biggest challenge for families in intensive care is simply that you don’t know what you don’t know, you don’t know what questions you need to ask. And you don’t know how to manage doctors and intensive care nurses. So one way again, to help you with that is we can help you by being your professional consultant and advocate in such a challenging situation.
So, you know, we can set you up with the right questions to ask, we can talk to the doctors and the nurses with you on a conference call and find out what’s exactly happening. And we can get to the bottom of things again, because we have so much experience in intensive care.
So that is my tip for today. Check out intensivecarehotline.com. Give us a call on one of the numbers on the top of the website, or just send us an email to [email protected].
Wishing you and your families all the very best during this difficult time. Take care.
