Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel from intensivecarehotline.com with another quick tip for families in intensive care.
I get emails every day from families who have loved ones in intensive care.
And today I had an email from a lady called Nora and she writes that her dad is in an induced coma after surgery and her dad is very scared while he’s in this induced coma and slowly trying to wake up.
He’s scared he can’t talk, he’s breathing against the ventilator and she also feels like the nursing staff are talking over him and they don’t really help him through this difficult situation.
So my tip to you Nora is really keep talking to your dad. Number one keep asking the nursing staff what sedation your dad is on and read up on our website what that actually means and then also contact us.
If you have any more questions, you can email us at [email protected] or call on one of the numbers on the top of the website and we can talk you through this whole difficult experience and help you there. That’s my tip for today and I’ll talk to you in a few days!
