Quick Tip for Families in ICU: Look for Action and Not for Words in Intensive Care!
Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel from intensivecarehotline.com with another quick tip for families in intensive care.
Now my tip for today is really that you should watch for actions of the Intensive Care team rather than for their words. What do I mean by that? Well, a lot of families that we work with, you know, when we first start asking all the difficult questions with the Intensive Care team and it gets a little bit more confrontational, you know, we’re finding that Intensive Care teams back off and they say all the right words that families want to hear but they actually not following through an action, with their actions, right?
So, their actions don’t match their words and especially when it comes to real or perceived end of life situations. we’re finding that, you know, the Intensive Care team is not following through what’s in the best interest of a critically ill patient and it could often end up with the death of a patient because of that.
So how can you actually verify that the actions match their words and vice versa? Well, that’s where we can come in and we can talk to the Intensive Care team and we can also look for the treatment that’s being given whether that’s matching their actual words.
So, if you need help with any of that, go and read our case studies at intensivecarehotline.com and go to our “Your Questions Answered” section or contact us on one of the numbers on the top of our website at intensivecarehotline.com
That’s my quick tip for today and I’ll talk to you in a few days.
