Quick Tip For Families In ICU: How To Get To The Right Answers When Your Loved One Is Ventilated!
Hi, it’s Patrik Hutzel from intensivecarehotline.com with another quick tip for families in intensive care. Yesterday, I had a client call me and she’s asking me whether her grandmother had a stroke and is now in intensive care on a ventilator and in an induced coma, she’s asking me if she can survive and can come off the ventilator.
Now my answer to this question was that, it really depends, you know, I’d simply didn’t have enough information to answer that question because it depends on so many things. Now, as I always say, the biggest challenge for families in intensive care is simply that you don’t know what you don’t know.
Intensive care is such a highly specialized area that without the insight knowledge and experience, you know, it’ll be very difficult for you to even ask the right questions. So, what we’re doing with this client, we’ll set them up with a series of questions and then they can come back to us with the answers to those questions or we can, you know, or we talk directly to the doctors and nurses and find out what’s exactly happening.
So, if you are in a similar situation, you know, simply we need more clinical information and we can find out the information for you and on your behalf, and then we can answer all of your questions open and transparently.
So that’s my tip for today. Check out our case studies at intensivecarehotline.com and I’ll talk to you in a few days. Take care
