- if you don’t know what to do
- if you don’t know what questions you need to ask
- if you don’t know how to position yourself and your critically ill loved one
- and most importantly if you don’t know how you can get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
Hi, I’m Patrik Hutzel, founder& publisher of INTENSIVECAREHOTLINE.COM and after more than 15 years of Intensive Care nursing in three different countries and after I have literally worked with THOUSANDS of critically ill Patients and their Families in the most difficult, challenging, often heartbreaking and most of all demanding situations, I have seen and learned how I can show Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care how they can get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
First and foremost, besides being an experienced Intensive Care Nurse, I have also felt the heartbreak that you are currently feeling, not only on a professional, but also on a very personal level and my life as well as my Family’s life has never been the same ever since.
25 years ago, when I was a teenager, me and my Family lost my uncle in Intensive Care at the age of 51. My uncle had Cardiomyopathy, which is a weakness of the heart muscle and he was waiting for a heart transplant in Intensive Care but never got one and he unfortunately died.
We all loved our uncle dearly as he was such a great and loveable guy and he only lived around the corner from where I grew up and I could just walk there in a stroll or take my bicycle to visit him, his wife and my cousins.
Coincidence or not, I was actually in hospital myself when my uncle died and I had my tonsils removed and my mother told me that her brother had died whilst I was still recovering from my Tonsillectomy. Unfortunately I couldn’t even go to his funeral as I was still in hospital.
My life has never been the same since and the experience and the trauma my Family went through with my uncle dying in Intensive Care, led me to make a difference in other people’s life and that’s why I went into Intensive Care nursing myself to help critically ill Patients and their Families to make a difference in their lives.
Out of those more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries I have also spent 5 years in senior management positions where I worked as a Nurse Unit Manager in two separate Intensive Care Units.
During those 15 years Intensive Care nursing I gained insights, skills and expertise that I can now pass on to Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care!
I know that I’m in a position where I can leverage my skills, my expertise, my knowledge and my experience to your advantage so that you can finally get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
But what I mainly learned was that what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care are the things that you must know and master if you, your Family and your critically ill loved one don’t want to be left behind and if you don’t want to be subject to and at the mercy of the Intensive Care team!
After all you want to get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST and you’re not going to get it if you don’t know how to strongly position yourself and if you don’t know what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care.
Because if you don’t know how to position yourself strongly and if you don’t know what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” and if you don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors in Intensive Care, the reality and the fact of the matter is that the Intensive Care team will make all the decisions for you “BEHIND THE SCENES” and BEHIND CLOSED DOORS and the reality and the fact of the matter is that “BEHIND THE SCENES” and BEHIND CLOSED DOORS is where everything as it relates to your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis and also as it relates to the treatment and the care your critically ill loved one is receiving or not receiving is being decided!
If you don’t know how to position yourself STRONGLY and CORRECTLY whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care and if you don’t know what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care, you will never have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence and you will never have it FAST!
The hidden agendas and the moving parts “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care is driving most of the things the Intensive Care team wants!
You might say, “Patrik, surely the Intensive Care team wants for my critically ill loved one to get better”!
And I can tell you that after more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries and after I have worked as a Nurse Unit Manager in Intensive Care for more than 5 years and after I have worked with literally thousands of critically ill Patients and their Families in Intensive Care that this is often not the case.
There are far too many moving parts in Intensive Care that you as a Family member of your critically ill loved one generally speaking have no idea and no awareness about.
And more importantly, you as a Family member of a critically ill Patient in Intensive Care who has no idea about how many other Patients are waiting for a scarce, precious, “in-demand” and expensive Intensive Care bed, you as a family member of your critically ill loved one has no idea how the financial budget of the Intensive Care Unit impacts on the positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis by the Intensive Care team.
You as a family member of your critically ill loved one has no idea that medical research is a multi- million Dollar $$$ per year industry, where the interests of the Intensive Care team and the interests of the Intensive Care Unit by far outweigh your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis, prognosis, as well as the care and the treatment offered or not offered to your critically ill loved one by the Intensive Care team!
Your positioning is everything during this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge!
The power play and power struggles, the dynamics, the intrigue, the psychology, the politics, the competing interests and most of all the hidden agendas in an Intensive Care Unit are what’s driving the Intensive Care team and it’s also what’s driving the Intensive Care team’s positioning of your critically ill loved one’s prognosis and diagnosis!
Therefore, if you and your Family don’t know how to position yourself strongly during this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge that you can’t afford to get wrong, you, your Family and your critically ill loved one will be subject to the politics, the power play and power struggles, the dynamics, the intrigue, the competing interests, the psychology and most of all the hidden agendas in Intensive Care!
Think about it. The positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis! The Intensive Care team can and will position your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis to their liking, in often subtle ways that suits their agenda and the Intensive Care team may position your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis to their liking and according to the politics, the power play and power struggles, the dynamics, the intrigue, the psychology, the competing interests and most of all the hidden agendas in Intensive Care!
The power play and power struggles, the politics, the dynamics, the intrigue, the psychology, the competing interests and again, the hidden agendas in an Intensive Care Unit also often drive the care and the treatment the Intensive Care team is offering or not offering to you, to your family and to your critically ill loved one!
Therefore, your positioning in this challenging, difficult, demanding and “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation is crucial and paramount!
Don’t be oblivious to the fact that it’s your positioning that matters!
The fact of the matter is that 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence because they don’t even know that they need to position themselves in the first place! It’s the last thing on their mind!
Families of critically ill Patients are oblivious to the fact that it’s their positioning that matters and that it makes all the difference!
Intensive Care teams are so used to be in control, they are so used to drive their agenda and they are so used that their “perceived power” and their “perceived authority” is getting them what they want, because Families of critically ill Patients have “BLIND FAITH” and they take everything for “FACE VALUE” the Intensive Care team is telling them!
Because Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care are so overwhelmed, so stressed, so frustrated, they feel so vulnerable and anxious, they are paralysed by fear and it’s therefore that they think that they can’t have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
Furthermore, the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” by the Intensive Care team also completely throws Families of critically ill Patients off guard and Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care have forgotten that they need to strongly position themselves during this ”ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation where your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
You are involved in a “high stakes game” and only the Intensive Care team knows how to play and how to win, unless you discover the right information, the right tools and the right strategies…
After all Intensive Care is a $$$ Billion Dollar per year industry and therefore the stakes are extremely high.
Not only is Intensive Care a $$$ Billion Dollar per year industry, it also means that key players in the industry such as Intensive Care teams have huge interests and hidden agendas that go way beyond your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis!
The Intensive Care team’s interests go as far as that the care and treatment offered or not offered to your critically ill loved one often depends on what’s happening ”BEHIND THE SCENES”!
You and your Family are involved in a “high stakes game” and only the Intensive Care team knows how to play and knows how to win! Unless you know what information you need to be looking for or unless somebody will show you what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care and unless you know what questions you need to ask whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care, you and your Family will be kept at “arm’s length” by the Intensive Care team and you and your family will never have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
THE CHANGE IN THE HEALTH STATUS OF A FAMILY MEMBER IS RIGHT IN THE TOP 10 OF THE MAJOR STRESS FACTORS IN LIFE
Did you know that studies and research suggests that 99% of Families feel they have no PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence when their loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care?
Did you also know that some studies suggest that “a change in the health status of a family member” is right in the top 10 of the major stress factors in life?
Imagine that! “A change in the HEALTH status of a family member” is right in the top ten of the major stress factors in life!
There is no mentioning about critical illness or Intensive Care! It just says “a change in the health status of a family member”.
That could be anything. It could be a flu, it could be a mental illness or it could be a broken leg.
It doesn’t mention Intensive Care, it doesn’t mention critical illness and it doesn’t even remotely mention difficult, challenging, demanding, heartbreaking and critical situations where you and your Family don’t really know what to do such as when
- Your critically ill loved one is very unstable and in a very critical condition
- Your critically ill loved one is in a life threatening situation
- Your critically ill loved one is in Intensive Care for long-term treatments and long-term stays
- Your critically ill loved one is having a severe(traumatic) head or brain injury
- Your critically ill loved one is threatened with an “NFR”(Not for resuscitation) or “DNR”(Do not resuscitate) order
- Your critically ill loved one is in a situation where the Intensive Care team suggests a “withdrawal of treatment” or a “limitation of treatment” as being “IN THE BEST INTEREST” of your critically ill loved one
- Your critically ill loved one is approaching their end of life in Intensive Care
How do those situations compare to a major stress event in your life such as “A change in the HEALTH status of a family member”?
“A change in the HEALTH status of a family member” sounds pretty benign to me compared to situations where your critically ill loved one is in Intensive Care literally fighting for their life!
It hasn’t always been easy for me
And I hear you, you might say, “Patrik, you’ve been doing this for so long, you know Intensive Care inside out, you know the environment intimately because you’ve done it for more than 15 years, you’ve worked in several countries, you’ve worked with THOUSANDS of critically ill Patients and their Families, you’ve even been a Nurse Unit Manager in Intensive Care and I’m just not sure whether it’ll work for me!”
And I can tell you it hasn’t always been easy for me either! And as I have said before, when I was a teenager me and my Family lost my uncle at the age of 51 in Intensive Care!
And I can assure you it’s still painful to this day, even though it’s more than 25 years ago now! We still think of him as one of the greatest guys on earth! It was one of the most traumatic experiences in my life, period!
And then once I decided to go into nursing myself and when I then ended up working in Intensive Care as a Critical Care nurse, I can, once again assure you that it was and still is challenging and heartbreaking at times!
Dealing with critical illness, dealing with long-term stays in Intensive Care, dealing with death and end of life situations is taking its toll. It’s taking its toll mentally, emotionally and sometimes physically as well!
And the truth, the reality and the fact of the matter is that what I teach you now wasn’t easy to come by with. As a matter of fact it was a lot of blood, sweat and tears and I am not ashamed to say that I had tears in my eyes many times when dealing with end of life situations and when dealing with death in Intensive Care!
What I learned over the many years with thousands of critically ill Patients and their Families is a shortcut for you to PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
But it also made me realize that what I have learned in more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries and after I have worked with literally THOUSANDS of critically ill Patients and their Families in Intensive care and what I learned and the insights that I gained when I worked as a Nurse Unit Manager in Intensive Care is a shortcut for you to PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
Because if I have found a way and if I have learned coping strategies and coping mechanisms that give me PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence, I knew that I can teach those strategies to you the Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care!
In my Ebooks, my Videos and my Audio recordings I have summarized the most valuable lessons that I have learned in more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries, where I literally worked with and looked after thousands of critically ill Patients and their Families in Intensive Care!
Overall I have probably worked with tens of thousands of people in the area of critical illness and Intensive Care, whether it be critically ill Patients, their Families or Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, social workers etc…!
Initially I felt lost too
And you know just like you, I felt lost too! I felt clueless and I felt helpless when I first started working in Intensive Care, especially when I realized that there is just not enough emotional, moral as well as practical support in Intensive Care for everything that’s going on, whether it is for the Patients, their Families or even for the staff working in Intensive Care!
At the end of the day, how do people, whether it is the Patients, their Families or a critical care nurse cope with such difficult, challenging, demanding and critical situations such as where critically ill Patients are either
- very unstable and in a very critical condition
- in a life threatening situation
- in Intensive Care for long-term treatments and long-term stays
- having a severe(traumatic) head or brain injury
- threatened with an “NFR”(Not for resuscitation) or “DNR”(Do not resuscitate) order
- in a situation where the Intensive Care team suggests a “withdrawal of treatment” or a “limitation of treatment” as being “IN THE BEST INTEREST” of your critically ill loved one
- approaching their end of life in Intensive Care
the reality and the fact of the matter is that Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care often don’t cope and often they become cynical, helpless, frustrated, apathetic, depressed, vulnerable and overwhelmed!
The sad reality is that 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care have no PEACE OF MIND, no power, no control and no influence and the Intensive Care team is driving home their hidden agenda, period!
Also, if you think about it, if you want to know more about the most difficult and most challenging situations in Intensive Care that I mentioned just a minute ago, you will find that the Intensive Care team is unwilling to really answer your burning questions, because they often have no answers or they just simply don’t want to deal with your raw emotions and your burning questions!
And besides, the Intensive Care team’s hidden agenda, their medical research interests, the politics, their position of “perceived power”, their position of “perceived authority” and their strict academic and scientific views is making them feel superior to you and your Family, so that they more often than not talk over you and at you, they often don’t enter into a genuine dialogue with you and often their main interest during those difficult and challenging situations is to keep you and your Family at ”arm’s length”!
Truth being told, 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence don’t position themselves strongly and correctly, they are ill prepared and they don’t think that positioning is something they need to do in the first place!
Your positioning and doing your own research is critical and matters a lot!
Your positioning is absolutely crucial, it’ll make or break your and your critically ill loved one’s situation!
If you and your Family are not positioned strongly and correctly, you, your Family and your critically ill loved one will stay at the mercy of the Intensive Care team, which is something you must avoid at all cost!
Your critically ill loved one’s fate and their destiny will be dependent on what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care and your critically ill loved one’s fate and destiny will be dependent on the politics, the power play and the power struggles, the dynamics, the hierarchy, the intrigue, the psychology, the competing interests and most of all it’ll be dependent on all of the hidden agendas that the Intensive Care team is trying to hide away from you at all cost.
Medical research, from Doctors for Doctors instead of transparent information for Families in a language that you understand!
Think about it, if you want to find out more information about your critically ill loved one’s situation in Intensive Care on the Internet, all you get is a medical research paper from Doctors for Doctors!
There is very little to no transparent information that speaks your language so that you can put things in perspective and so that you can arm yourself with information that gives you PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
You should also ask yourself why there is little or no transparent information out there that speaks your language whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
Transparency in Intensive Care is lacking, however transparency is key for you to have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence
The answer? It’s simply because Intensive Care is not a transparent environment.
In fact, there is probably no other environment that screams any louder that the Intensive Care team will have all the power and authority if you don’t know what to do!
By now you would have known that the Intensive Care team has little or no time to meet with you and enter into a genuine dialogue with you and your Family.
By now you would have known that the Intensive Care team speaks mainly in their medical jargon and in their medical language that you hardly understand and very rarely does the Intensive Care team explain things in a way that you can easily understand.
In fact, the number of times I have seen the arrogance of Intensive Care doctors at play when Families ask them to explain things, they only get told by the Intensive Care doctor, “that there is no time explaining, because you don’t understand it anyway…”
That’s why it’s so important that you as a Family member of a critically ill Patient in Intensive Care who generally speaking has no idea how to position yourself strongly and correctly and that’s why it’s so important that you can deal with and face any challenge in Intensive Care!
That’s why it’s so important that you keep doing your own research and in the
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
I explain the things to you in a language that you understand and that will make things crystal clear to you!
I will leave no stone unturned and the information that I share in the course is so powerful that you will know exactly how you can get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence really FAST whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
The truth of the matter is that most Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care simply have no idea what to do when their loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
You can see it in their eyes, in their poor body language and you can hear it in their tone of voice!
Families of critically ill Patients are so far outside of their comfort zone that they have simply lost the plot…
And I have seen this with most Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care and everybody else in Intensive Care who has worked there for any length of time has seen it as well.
Poor body language, weak questions(if any) and the inability to strongly and correctly position themselves is what unites Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care!
I have seen it because of the poor body language Families display when they have a loved one critically ill in Intensive Care, because of the weak questions they ask(if they ask any), I have seen it because of their inability to mentally position themselves strongly and correctly and I have simply seen over and over again that PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence is not even remotely within their reach!
“To live through an impossible situation, you don’t need to have the reflexes of a Grand Prix driver, the muscles of a Hercules, the mind of an Einstein. You simply need to know what to do” – Anthony Greenback, The Book of Survival
And as you know by now, you, your family and your critically ill loved one are literally in an “impossible situation”!
And that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to show you how to get you through this “impossible situation” in Intensive Care.
I’m here to give you PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST, no matter how challenging the situation of your critically ill loved one!
I’m here to fill in the blanks for you and for your Family and I’m here to show you how you can powerfully position yourself during this ”ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation!
Remember, the politics, the power play and power struggles, the dynamics, the competing interests, the hierarchy, the intrigue, the psychology and most of all the hidden agendas of the Intensive Care team are overtly dominating their positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis, whilst your critically ill loved one is going through one of their most difficult challenges in their entire life!
Think about it. Why do you think that there is very little or no objective and Family friendly information on the Internet that speaks the language of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care?
Intensive Care teams have a closed shop mentality
Once again, all you find is medical research papers from Doctors for Doctors all over the Internet! It’s a closed shop mentality! Those medical research papers are basically Intensive Care doctors talking amongst themselves without wanting to reveal any information to Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care so that you can get it in simple and plain everyday language!
There is no factual, objective and easy to understand information out there that is specifically designed for Families of critically ill Patients that speaks your language!
That’s why INTENSIVECAREHOTLINE.COM is so popular, because we bring you the information and the stuff that matters in a fashion that speaks your language!
No academic and scientific talk, you get it straight from somebody who’s been in your shoes, who knows what you are dealing with and who knows what you need in order to turn this situation around and who knows how you can quickly get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
How do you really feel in this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge that you can’t afford getting wrong?
Did you know that many Intensive Care staff quit their jobs after a few years because they can’t cope any longer with the stress they are dealing with and they get burned out?
With all those facts in mind, I always thought, if I have issues and challenges coping with the stress and the demands whilst working in Intensive Care, how awful, helpless, vulnerable and even desperate must the Families of critically ill Patients feel when they are going through this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge whilst their loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care?
Given that I survived and even thrived in the environment in more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries, where I have literally worked with THOUSANDS of critically ill Patients and their Families and where I have also spent 5 years as a Nurse Unit Manager in Intensive Care, I knew that I have learned so many valuable lessons that I feel compelled to share all these valuable lessons and insights with you, the Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care so that you can finally have an unfair advantage and turn the situation around in your favour!
You and your Family can’t afford to “drop the ball”, because if you do, the Intensive Care team will catch it…
Because I know that when you come to an Intensive Care Unit when your loved one has been admitted for critical illness, you are vulnerable, you are out of your comfort zone, you are stressed, you are overwhelmed, you are anxious, you are caught in this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge and you are in a situation that doesn’t allow you to “drop the ball”, so to speak. Because if you do quite frankly “drop the ball” the Intensive Care team will gladly catch it and drive their agenda…
The reality and the fact of the matter is that if you are like 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care, you have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence.
Those Families have dropped the ball early on, as a matter of fact they didn’t even know that there was a ball to catch in the first place and the Intensive Care team gladly makes all the decisions for those Families by continuously driving their hidden agenda and their strategy forward, without those Families even realizing what’s happening!
As a matter of fact, “blind faith” in the Intensive Care team is what’s causing those Families to have no PEACE OF MIND, no power, no control and no influence, without them even realizing that it’s their own fault that they feel that way!
After all, society has wrongly conditioned us for centuries to have “blind faith”, to trust doctors and Intensive Care teams blindly…
Remember, you are in a unique and “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation that you can’t afford getting wrong and coping strategies, coping mechanisms, PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence are things we are all craving for when we are faced with a challenge and an “impossible situation”!
Unique and “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situations and challenges require unique and “out of the box” responses! This is exactly what
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
is all about!
It’s a proven, unique and out of the box tool and BLUEPRINT that arms you with cutting edge information and an unfair advantage!
Is anybody really addressing your deep seated fears and frustrations and are you sleeping at night?
How are Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care coping? Is the Intensive Care team really addressing your deep seated fears, your deep seated frustrations, your stress, your worries, your anxieties and your vulnerability? Or is the Intensive Care team even taking advantage of your vulnerability?
Is the Intensive Care team really giving you the answers to those questions that won’t let you and your Family sleep at night?
Is the Intensive Care team really giving you a blueprint to cope with and effectively deal with your critically ill loved one being
- very unstable and in a very critical condition
- in a life threatening situation
- in Intensive Care for long-term treatments and long-term stays
- having a severe(traumatic) head or brain injury
- threatened with an “NFR”(Not for resuscitation) or “DNR”(Do not resuscitate) order
- In a situation where the Intensive Care team suggests a “withdrawal of treatment” or a “limitation of treatment” as being “in the best interest” of your critically ill loved one
- approaching their end of life in Intensive Care
Is anybody really addressing your questions that remain unanswered? Is anybody really addressing the questions you know you should be asking, but you are ashamed and afraid to ask, because you are worried that you look stupid?
Is the Intensive Care team really addressing your fears, your frustrations, your stress, your anxiety and your vulnerability?
Is the Intensive Care team really available for you or are they keeping you “at arm’s length”?
Or is the Intensive Care team all academically and scientifically minded and is referring to the treatment and what it should do?
Or is the Intensive Care team unavailable, pretending to be busy and not genuinely interested in speaking to you?
Is the Intensive Care team genuinely addressing YOUR questions about your critically ill loved one’s situation that you want to ask but you are worried to ask, because you are worried that you look stupid?
Is the Intensive Care team really addressing and engaging in the burning questions you have about the hot topics that burn inside of you, such as end of life issues, quality of life issues, future quality of life impairments, perceived quality of life and/or effectiveness of current treatments?
Is the Intensive Care team really explaining to you in detail what it all means that the Intensive Care team is doing?
If so, are they explaining it to you in a language that you can understand or do they still use and hide behind their medical, academic and scientific language?
What you need is answers and empowerment and I’ll give it to you FAST!
You see, one thing that I learned in more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries and after having worked with literally THOUSANDS of critically ill Patients and their Families is that when I applied my strategies of how I coped with the stress, the challenges, the anxieties, the fears, the frustrations and when I shared them with the Families of the critically ill Patients that I looked after, I found that Families of critically ill Patients all of a sudden felt empowered and that empowerment gave them PEACE OF MIND, it gave them control, it gave them power and it gave them influence FAST!
All of a sudden those Families of critically ill Patients felt that they had a voice, they felt that they got treated differently by the Intensive Care team and most of all they felt that they had PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST! They also felt that they had control over their and their critically ill loved one’s fate and destiny!
I’ll give you a real world example so that you know and understand what I mean
One particular situation that I vividly remember was that when I looked after a 62 year old gentleman who fell off the roof of his house when cleaning the gutters, where he sustained a severe head injury that led him to die within a few of days in Intensive Care!
The Family of this 62 year old man, his wife and his two daughters where absolutely devastated to say the least and so was I, when I heard their story!
The 62 year old gentleman and his wife only retired from an active working life a few weeks prior to the accident and they were now looking forward to a better quality of life with more time for each other and more time for their hobbies and passions!
Not only did they find themselves in these tragic and dramatic circumstances in Intensive Care out of the blue and totally unexpected, even worse, the Intensive Care team was trying to exert their “perceived authority” and their “perceived power” by coercing the Family into a “withdrawal of treatment” and into a “withdrawal of life support” at the earliest possible convenience for the Intensive Care team, because the Intensive Care team needed the bed for the next admissions they had already lined up!
Secretly, the Intensive Care team viewed this 62 year old gentleman’s case as a “hopeless case”, somebody who was going to die anyway and the Intensive Care team had little or no empathy for the time the wife and the two daughters of this 62 two year old man needed, in order to come to terms with the imminent death of their beloved husband and father!
I remember when I came on to the night shift, I was immediately asked by the senior Intensive Care consultant that I should be removing life support for this 62 year old gentleman by 10pm.
I felt like I was kicked in my guts, because I knew the family and the 62 year old gentleman from the previous night shift!
I also knew that the Family wasn’t ready for the death of their critically ill loved one as yet, especially since it was forced by a “withdrawal of life support” or a “withdrawal of treatment” by the Intensive Care team!
The family needed at least another 24- 48 hours in order to come to terms with the imminent death of their beloved husband and father!
Besides, the Family was still waiting for the 62 year old gentleman’s brother to come in from overseas and the wife was adamant that life support would not be switched off before her brother in law had arrived! The 62 year old gentleman’s wife wanted to make sure that her husband can die with his brother at his side, with whom he was very close with!
Cutting a long story short, I encouraged the family to exercise their rights, to ask for more time and to basically have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence, despite the Intensive Care team’s hidden agenda and positioning!
It was also extremely important for the Family to have a sense of PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence in a situation where their lives were literally falling apart…
There are many wheels in motion “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care that you simply have no clue about…
And so they did! The 62 year old gentleman passed away on the Family’s terms and not on the terms that the Intensive Care team was trying to push and dictate on to the Family! The Family was given the time they needed to come to terms with the death of their beloved husband and father!
They were given another 48 hours to get all their important family members to say their farewells and it also gave the Family more time to come to terms with the fate their loved one was facing!
Many Intensive Care teams have lost their compassion, their empathy and they have also lost their capacity to humanise Intensive Care, because in this Multi- Billion $$$ Dollar per year Industry that is Intensive Care, there are just so many wheels in motion that you simply have no idea about!
The wheels that are in motion always impact on the care and the treatment your critically ill loved one is receiving or not receiving, period!
I could give you numerous other examples where I empowered Families of critically ill Patients, where I told them what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” and how it impacts on the Intensive Care team’s -often negative- positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis!
Armed with this insider knowledge, those Families were able to turn things around, they were able to challenge the Intensive Care team, challenge the Intensive Care team’s ”perceived power” and challenge their ”perceived authority” and those Families all of a sudden were armed with questions and insights that challenged the Intensive Care team’s positioning!
You get “cutting edge” and real world information
Armed with this cutting edge and REAL WORLD information about Intensive Care, those Families of critically ill Patients get PEACE OF MIND, they have control, they have power and they have influence and they have it FAST!
Those Families of critically ill Patients are in a very good position and unlike the other 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, who have no power, who have no control and who have no influence and who stay at the mercy of the Intensive Care team, you and your Family will be in a good position and you and your Family can direct your critically ill loved one’s fate and destiny, because you have real bargaining power and you are no longer dependent on the Intensive Care team’s hidden agenda or the Intensive Care team’s mercy!
In fact, you are now in a position to drive your own agenda!
I know that if you are reading this right now, you are in a similar situation! You and your Family are facing your worst nightmares, you and your Family are facing your worst fears, your worst frustrations, your worst anxieties, you are challenged, you are vulnerable and you are out of your comfort zone beyond your wildest dreams!
I know it’s not your fault!
And I know it’s not your fault! You and your Family didn’t ask that your loved one got admitted to Intensive Care!
It’s also not your fault that the Intensive Care team stands on this pedestal of “perceived power” and “perceived authority”.
The reality and the fact of the matter is that society has wrongly conditioned you and your Family for centuries that we should blindly trust doctors and basically have “blind faith”!
What nobody has told you so far is that the Intensive Care team has interests, dynamics, politics, they have hidden agendas and they have often purely academic and scientific views and believes that go way beyond the raw emotions you are experiencing and dealing with because your loved one is in such an unfortunate position!
And the Intensive Care team’s agenda goes way beyond your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis!
The “perceived power” and “perceived authority” is exactly why the Intensive Care team gets away with whatever they can get away with and that’s why they can keep pushing their hidden agenda forward!
The “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team is also just that, it’s perceived and it’s not even real!
And because it is only a perception that is not even real, you can just change your perception that the Intensive care team is not a “perceived authority”. It’s as simple as that!
Transparency is key
Society has almost got this unwritten contract with mainly doctors that they can do whatever they like and people don’t question!
This is why we are at the point where it is necessary to become more transparent, because once again, Intensive Care is a multi- Billion $$$ Dollar per year Industry and the money exchanging hands in Intensive Care has reached a point- in fact it’s reached a very dangerous point- where the interests in Intensive Care are driven by all the Dollars(or Pounds) $$$ that are exchanging hands.
You, your Family and your critically ill loved one are in a very precarious and vulnerable position right now and the reality and the fact of the matter is that if you, your Family and your critically ill loved one are experiencing this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge in Intensive Care right now and if you still have those long held beliefs that “Doctors know what’s best” then you and your Family are at an even more dangerous point, because you and your Family basically have handed over your level of PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence on a platter to the Intensive Care team!
In fact you probably never had any control, power and influence in the first place. PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence are not even remotely within your reach!
If this is you, if you still think that “Doctors know what’s best” and if you still think that they have the “best interest” of you, your Family and of your critically ill loved one at heart, especially when you are facing difficult, challenging, demanding and critical situations where you and your Family don’t really know what to do when your loved one is either
- approaching their end of life in Intensive Care
then this isn’t really for you!
If you still think that in this $$$ Billion Dollar $$$ per year Industry that is Intensive Care, the Intensive Care team always makes decisions that are based on clinical facts,
if you still think that the Intensive Care team is making decisions that are always in the best interest of your critically ill loved one and
if you still think that the Intensive Care team doesn’t have hidden agendas that are directly linked to
- The Intensive Care team’s strong financial interests on treating or not treating your critically ill loved one
- The bed pressures the Intensive Care Unit are experiencing day in and day out, because of other Patients awaiting to get admitted into precious, scarce, “in-demand” and expensive Intensive Care beds and the Intensive Care team may think they will be earning more money with other more “straightforward” Patients
- The medical research I.e. Medical research is again a multi- Million $$$ Dollar per year industry and generally attracts 5, 6 or even 7 figure $$$ Dollar funding per year into Intensive Care Units. Therefore a lot of treatment and care offered or not offered to your critically ill loved one is driven by the Intensive Care team’s medical research interests. In fact your critically ill loved one might be enrolled in a medical research study right now and you have no idea about it and the Intensive Care team has not sought consent from you and your Family. Those and many other illegal practices are part of the day to day running in an Intensive Care Unit! Therefore the Intensive Care team’s positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis is often dependent on those well hidden agendas that they try to keep away from you at all cost!
- Staffing issues. Many Intensive Care Units have difficulties maintaining a stable workforce because people are burning out so quickly! Therefore many Intensive Care Units are experiencing staffing crisis beyond your wildest dreams, where they can’t fill their shifts with suitably qualified nursing staff!
- On the other hand, if your critically ill loved one is really approaching their end of life in Intensive Care and is for example also falling into a medical research category then the Intensive Care team might be telling you that your critically ill loved one may recover and survive, whereas in fact the Intensive Care team only wants to continue treatment because they want to continue doing medical research and by doing so they unnecessarily prolong the suffering of your critically ill loved one!
If you want to continue to belong to the 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care, then you should really succumb to the Intensive Care team and their “perceived power” and their “perceived authority” and you should stop reading here!
So how can YOU tell the difference? How can YOU and your Family make sure that your critically ill loved one not only gets the best treatment and care and they also get it at the right time?
And how can YOU also tell the difference what agenda the Intensive Care is pursuing?
For example, is the Intensive Care team pursuing to “limit” or “withdraw treatment” because they don’t want to continue treatment only because they are worried that they are
- Not making any money $$$ or that they are losing money $$$ because your critically ill loved one’s stay in Intensive Care doesn’t fit their business, revenue or budget model?
- Blocking a bed by continuing to treat your critically ill loved one that could be used for other more financially viable Patients waiting and competing for precious, scarce, “in-demand” and expensive ICU beds?
- Has the Intensive Care team lost interest treating your critically ill loved one, because they don’t want to go through the emotional roller coaster of having a Patient critically ill in Intensive Care for many weeks if not many months in order to get your critically ill loved one on their way to recovery?
- Or even worse, does the Intensive Care team has a limited mindset and doesn’t know what other Intensive Care Units are doing in order to cure people?
- Has the Intensive Care team lost interest in continuing treating your critically ill loved one, because they can’t do any medical research? Do they therefore re-allocate their precious resources towards other, ”more interesting” Patients, where they can practice medical research and also generate revenue, publish medical research studies and have their names written on those medical research papers?
- Is the Intensive Care team only offering limited treatment and not best treatment and best care, because they believe that the “perceived Quality of life” of your critically ill loved one after they’ve come out of Intensive Care, won’t be what they believe and perceive as a “good Quality of Life”?
- Does the Intensive Care team therefore not offer best care and best treatment because they make judgements about what might happen outside of Intensive Care? Do they therefore base their current options and perceptions on how the ”perceived future Quality of Life” of your critically ill loved one may look like without actually knowing?
- Is the Intensive Care team looking at your critically ill loved one’s treatment favourably, do they think it’s “sexy” to treat your critically ill loved one? Or does the Intensive Care team think it’s more “sexy” to treat other Patients who require the latest fancy and expensive equipment such as ECMO, LVAD or the latest fancy ventilator etc…? Does the Intensive Care team therefore re-allocate precious resources that could be used for your critically ill loved one if the Intensive Care team only had a strong enough interest in treating your critically ill loved one?
- On the other side of the spectrum, does the Intensive Care team continue treating your critically ill loved, even though your critically ill loved one is inevitably going to die? Despite the “heavy gun” treatment, is the Intensive Care team wanting to continue doing medical research and is therefore telling you and your Family that your critically ill loved one has a chance of recovery? Or does the Intensive Care team continue to treat your critically ill loved one because they are avoiding the difficult topic and the discussions about death? You and your Family will be bitterly disappointed, angry and feeling guilty if you see your critically ill loved one suffering unnecessarily at the end of their life and you wish that you could have put an end to their prolonged and unnecessary suffering, prior to your loved one going through the burden of prolonged and unnecessary treatment conducted in the name of medical research!
- Again, on the other side of the spectrum, is the Intensive Care team proposing a recovery of your critically ill loved one because they want to continue treatment for funding, revenue and budget reasons? And is this outlook for recovery realistic or is this outlook on recovery driven by the Intensive Care team wanting to generate revenue and funding, even though the Intensive Care team knows that a recovery is very unlikely?
- Is the Intensive Care Unit currently experiencing a low occupancy and is the Intensive Care team therefore wanting to keep treating your critically ill loved one, even though your loved one is inevitably approaching their end of life?
- Is the Intensive Care team under pressure to keep their beds occupied and therefore they are unnecessarily prolonging the suffering of your critically ill loved one?
Can you tell the difference?
- How can you tell the difference between necessary and unnecessary treatment if your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care?
- How can you make sure that your critically ill loved one gets the best and the most timely treatment when they need it?
- How can you also make sure that your critically ill loved one doesn’t get unnecessary treatment in the name of medical research or in the name of “creating revenue”($$$) when your loved one is inevitably dying so that their suffering isn’t prolonged unnecessarily?
- How do you tell the difference and how can you have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence during those challenging, difficult, demanding and often heartbreaking situations?
The good news is that you can tell the difference when you sign up for
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
Here is another real world example for you!
I’ll give you another real world example where my teachings and my experience have guided a Family of a critically ill Patient through a massive challenge in Intensive Care!
A man in his mid- sixties got admitted to Intensive Care after he suffered from a subdural haematoma, which is a severe bleed in the brain!
The bleed was so severe that it caused a midline shift(a movement of the brain with increased brain pressure that can be lethal). The midline shift was around 4-5 mm(0.157- 0.197 inches) which is a big and life threatening midline shift in medical terms, therefore the man in his mid- sixties required more surgery on his brain within one week and he ended up having four brain surgeries in one week, which is almost unheard of.
The man in his mid- sixties was in an induced coma for many weeks and when the Intensive Care team finally decided to “wake him up”, he wasn’t waking up and he wasn’t responding as he was supposed to.
The Family was praying for their husband and father to show signs of life, to finally “wake up” but he wasn’t.
The Family of this man was very positive, hopeful and optimistic despite their challenging and difficult situation and they knew how vulnerable this situation made them and their critically ill loved one!
The Family once again stayed optimistic and they knew that their loved one would “wake up” and they “knew” that given time that their father and husband would beat the odds!
The Intensive Care team is once again painting a “doom and gloom” picture
The worst thing however this family dealt with was that the Intensive Care team painted this “doom and gloom” picture, the Intensive Care team remained negative and they suggested an “NFR”(Not for resuscitation) and “DNR”(Do not resuscitate) order in case their loved one’s heart stopped…
The Family of this critically ill man remained positive despite the odds and they were absolutely shocked and horrified by the negativity and the “doom and gloom” of the Intensive Care team!
They eventually reached out to INTENSIVECAREHOTLINE.COM and I was able to guide this Family through this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge and I was able to take them “BEHIND THE SCENES”, explain the positioning of the Intensive Care team and therefore guided the Family in a position where they had a very strong position themselves. They were now able to challenge the Intensive Care team’s positioning!
By showing them how they needed to position themselves and what questions they needed to ask, I was able to give them PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
I was able to do that by showing them to position themselves powerfully so that they could challenge the Intensive Care team and their negative assumptions!
I was able to show them how they needed to manage the doctors and the nurses so that their critically ill loved one received a different level of care and so that their father and husband received better nursing care and better Physiotherapy!
I was also able to show this particular family how they could challenge the Intensive Care team’s DNR (Do not resuscitate) /NFR(Not for resuscitation) order for their husband and father and have it turned around!
Because this is what many Intensive Care teams do, they make vulnerable and critically ill Patients DNR (Do not resuscitate)/NFR (Not for resuscitation) in case they deteriorate, without getting consent from their vulnerable Patients and their families!
Intensive care teams issue NFR(not for resuscitation) or DNR(Do not resuscitate) orders without getting consent from Families of critically ill Patients, because it suits their hidden agendas.
It suits their hidden agendas of bed management, staffing management, financial and budget interests and of course it suits their medical research interests.
It also cements the Intensive Care team’s perceived status of “we know what’s best”!
Do you think you’d want to know if the Intensive Care team is following such a wide spread and illegal practice such as issuing an NFR(not for resuscitation) or DNR(Do not resuscitate) order for your critically ill loved one?
What is perceived Quality of life anyway?
This particular Family always believed deep down in their heart that their loved one would “wake up” and that their loved one would beat the odds.
They listened to their gut feeling and they didn’t get caught up in “expert” academic and scientific opinions by the Intensive Care team about “Quality of Life” or even “perceived Quality of Life”, which is not even real.
This Family restored their PEACE OF MIND, their level of power, control and influence FAST by taking matters in their own hands, by doing their own research and by following my teachings, experience and insights!
The Intensive Care team was not in a position to keep this Family “at arm’s length”, like many Intensive Care team’s do with most other Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care!
Unlike 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence, this Family was not intimidated by the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team!
Those and many other scenarios is what’s driving the Intensive Care team and they always will make those decisions “BEHIND THE SCENES” and BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, far away and removed from vulnerable Families of critically ill Patients!
As you know by now, you are dealing with much bigger issues than just the critical illness of your loved one!
By now you know that you are dealing with much bigger issues than just with the critical illness of your critically ill loved one!
By now you know that you are involved in a “high stakes game” that you can’t really afford to lose, especially since you’ve discovered that the Intensive Care team knows how to play, is used to constantly playing and is used to constantly winning this “high stakes game”!
You also know by now that 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care have no PEACE OF MIND, they have power, no control and no influence and those Families continue to “suck up” to the Intensive Care team and put them on a pedestal! They continue to be intimidated during this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” experience that they can’t afford getting wrong!
Those Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care also don’t know that they are involved in a “high stakes game”, let alone do they know how to play this “high stakes game”!
You also know by now, that with so many moving parts in this dynamic, volatile and ever changing Intensive Care environment, it’s no wonder that 99% of Families of critically ill Patients are not having any PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
Those 99% of Families of critically ill Patients continue to mistakenly buy into the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team!
By now you know that you need to adopt unique, distinct and different thinking, you also know that you need unique, distinct and different strategies in order to master this challenge and in order to have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
You know by now that if you don’t take action, the destiny and the fate of YOUR critically ill loved one remains entirely out of YOUR hands and out of YOUR control and the destiny and the fate of YOUR critically ill loved one is entirely driven by the Intensive Care team and by their hidden agenda that’s a direct result from what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care!

I will show you how you can effectively deal with, overcome and “win” this “high stakes game” that normally only the Intensive Care team is used to win!
One of the biggest lessons that I learned after more than 15 years Intensive Care nursing in three different countries and after having worked with literally thousands of critically ill Patients and their Families is that Intensive Care teams are so used to be in control, they are so used of having their “perceived power” and their “perceived authority” working in their favour!
The perceived power and the perceived authority of the Intensive Care team tends to work in their favour
Because their ”perceived power” and their ”perceived authority” is not challenged by families in Intensive Care, that’s why it’s very easy for them to continuously drive their agenda that is driven by what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care.
What’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care is driven by the politics, the dynamics, the power play and power struggles, the competing interests, the psychology, the intrigue and most of all the hidden agendas that other Families of critically ill Patients have really no idea about and that’s exactly why they will never have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
It literally stays out of reach for them forever and they don’t even know that it exists and that it’s achievable!
Those 99% of Families of critically ill Patients who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence continue to buy into the negativity, the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team rather than looking at the powerful tools that help them to quickly find their own strong and powerful positioning tools!
The Intensive Care team on the other hand will continue to drive their decision making that is not only based on their perception they have about you and your Family! (powerful vs not so powerful; on you asking the right questions vs not asking the right questions). The Intensive Care team also bases their judgement about you whether you take things for face value vs not taking things for face value!
The Intensive Care team’s agenda is also driven by
- their strong financial interests
- the preference they give to some critically ill Patients and not to others
- the politics that are going on within Intensive Care and between other teams within the hospital that are involved in Intensive Care and are involved in the care of your critically ill loved one
- the constant fight and competition for limited resources, attention, promotions and alliances
- the big Egos generally present within the Intensive Care team
the list could go on and is not exhaustive and inside the ultimate guide for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care,
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
you’ll discover not only what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care, you’ll also discover how this impacts on the positioning of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis by the Intensive Care team!
Most importantly you’ll discover how to use this insider information and insider knowledge so that you can turn things around in your favour so that you will ultimately have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
By now you know and understand that the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team is just that. It’s only perceived and it’s not even real!
Therefore the ultimate guide for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care,
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
is a guide that builds on your perception.
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
is giving you the tools that will change the perception the Intensive Care team has about you, about your Family and about your critically ill loved one!
It’ll change the perception the Intensive Care team has about you , your Family and your critically ill loved one, because the Intensive Care team generally views you as weak and as a nuisance! Some Intensive Care teams might even see you as “a pain in the butt”…
As you know by now, the Intensive Care team much rather ignores you and they don’t really want to deal with your difficult questions. They don’t really want to deal with your “what if?” questions, they don’t really want to speak with you about the critical illness of your loved one and they are not really interested in entering into genuine and difficult conversations about
- treatment options
- care options
- discussions about the future Quality of Life or perceived Quality of life of your loved one
- discussions about end of life and death
- discussions about how they can help you and your Family how to deal with this difficult, challenging, overwhelming, stressful and “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation where you feel extremely vulnerable, where you feel left alone, abandoned and where you feel like you have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence!
- The Intensive Care team feels more comfortable talking in medical terms and medical jargon rather than speaking everyday and plain language that you can understand
- In fact the Intensive Care team is often trying to avoid talking to you, by saying that “you wouldn’t understand what I explain anyway”, therefore positioning themselves as arrogant and “superior”
- The Intensive Care team has also developed their shrewdness and adeptness to a point where they can keep you and your Family “at arm’s length” so that you have no PEACE OF MIND, no power, no control and no influence if you don’t know what to do
- The Intensive Care team is also very shrewd and adept at “selling” to you of what might be “in the best interest” of your critically ill loved one! Whereas in reality what the Intensive Care team positions as “in the best interest” of your critically ill loved one is always a result of what’s happening “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care and what is ultimately in the Intensive Care team’s “best interest”

is the ultimate leverage tool, program and shortcut that gets you PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST, even if your critically ill loved one is dying!
The Intensive Care team tends to be very shrewd and adept!
The truth of the matter is that the Intensive Care team is usually so shrewd and adept at “selling” to you the outcomes that they want!
You and your Family- let alone your critically ill loved one- have no idea what’s really happening and what really is in the ”best interest” of your critically ill loved one!
The Intensive Care team is also extremely shrewd and adept at taking advantage of your vulnerability and your emotions and they are the master of taking advantage of the psychological dynamics at play when you have a loved one critically ill in Intensive Care, where you and your Family feel like you ”owe” to the Intensive Care team!
Those misunderstood psychological dynamics are one of the main reasons why 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence!
In “THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
I explain to you in detail how you turn these psychological factors around in your favour so that you don’t feel like you are “owing” to the Intensive Care team!
If you and your Family don’t want to be dependent on your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis, prognosis and your loved one’s treatment being dependent on the Intensive Care team’s hidden agendas, the politics, the power play and power struggles, the intrigue, the psychology or even worse on medical research then you need to get your hands on the ultimate guide for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care,
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!” , period!
It’s time for you and your Family to get back in the driver’s seat
If you and your Family are
- sick of the Intensive Care team being in the driver’s seat
- if you and your Family are sick of not knowing and not understanding why the Intensive Care team says what they are saying
- if you and your Family are sick of the Intensive Care team continuing to talk over you and at you rather than entering into a genuine dialogue
- if you and your Family are sick of the Intensive Care team talking all in medical terms and medical jargon and not in plain everyday and simple language that you can understand
- and worst of all if you are sick of the Intensive Care team keeping you and your Family at ”arm’s length” by not being open and transparent, by not getting you involved in an open and transparent decision making process because of everything that the Intensive Care team is hiding “BEHIND THE SCENES”
then you must get your hands on the ultimate guide for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care,
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
It’s that simple! You and your Family know by now that you are in a “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation and challenge and you know that you can’t afford getting this one wrong!
You and your Family know by now that you need to get help in the situation that you and your critically ill loved one are in!
You and your Family know by now that the Intensive Care team is used to getting away with all sorts of second class behaviour, because those other 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care don’t question and they don’t demand more!
STOP BEING INTIMIDATED by the “perceived power” and the “perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team
You and your Family know by now that the Intensive Care team is getting away with all sorts of second class behaviour because they know that most Families of critically ill Patients are intimidated by the ”perceived power” and by the ”perceived authority” of the Intensive Care team!
You and your Family also know by now that if you do start asking questions and if you do start behaving differently from those other 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence, you also know by now that you can and will have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST if you start behaving differently and if you start asking all the right questions and if you know how to shift the power dynamics in your favour!
If you are sick and tired coming to Intensive Care and more importantly if you are sick and tired coming to Intensive Care without confidence– and the Intensive Care team knows that you’ve got no confidence!
The Intensive Care team can see and feel your lack of confidence, when they are watching your poor body language with your back hunched, with your shoulders forward, with your eyes avoiding strong eye contact, with your weak handshake, with your arms crossed and with the tears in your eyes.
They can hear in the tone of your voice that you feel lost and that you have no confidence!
Those dynamics make you, your Family and your critically ill loved one extremely vulnerable and it’s well overdue that you take control of this situation and it’s well overdue that you have confidence during this challenging “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation!
How to improve your confidence even if you are overwhelmed during this “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” situation!
The Intensive Care team can also sense that you’ve got no confidence from the tone of your voice, from the weak questions that you ask, if you ask any questions at all.
The Intensive Care team knows that you are in a poor bargaining positioning, because they know that you are intimidated by their “perceived power” and their “perceived authority”!
The Intensive Care team knows that they have mapped and scripted their agenda well in advance, way before you even knew that your loved one was being admitted to Intensive Care for critical illness! They have scripted their agenda well in advance before you even had any idea that your loved one might end up in Intensive Care critically ill!
Taking charge and taking control is not even something remotely on the radar for 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence, because they just continue to play the role of the “victim” and they continue to feel sorry for themselves rather than taking action and get on the path to PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
Those Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence continue to make excuses why they can’t have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
They continue to feel sorry for themselves, they are paralysed by fear and they drown in sorrow rather than taking action!
And you and your Family don’t want to be like them. You and your Family already know that there is a solution out there for you to have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
You and your Family already know that we deliver the goods at INTENSIVECAREHOTLINE.COM! You and your Family already know that continuing making excuses why you can’t have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence doesn’t serve you!
You and your Family already know that those 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who continue to have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence will continue to be at the mercy of the Intensive Care team!
And in a sense that’s fine. You know, as far as I know so far it had to be that way, because there simply was no open and transparent information available for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care!
Most of the information available on the Internet about Intensive Care is medical research from Doctors for Doctors. It’s all academic and scientific talk, written in a language that you are not meant to understand!
If anything it’s creating a big barrier between you and the Intensive Care team! And that’s what the Intensive Care team wants! They want to keep standing on this pedestal of “perceived power” and “perceived authority!”
Standing on the pedestal of “perceived power” and “perceived authority” is exactly what keeps you and your Family at “arm’s length” and that’s how the Intensive Care team has “framed” the relationship with you, with your Family and with your critically ill loved one!
It’s all about how great they are and it’s all about medical research! It’s all about the very medical research that is conducted on real very sick human beings in Intensive Care often without them or their Families knowing!
Don’t make your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis subject to the politics and the fight for limited resources in Intensive Care
That’s right, I am talking about medical research that is conducted in the name of medicine and in the name of 5, 6 or 7 $$$ funding per year.
If your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care, if your husband, your wife, your father, your mother, your brother, your sister, your child, your uncle, your aunt, your niece or your nephew is in Intensive Care at this very moment there is a very high chance that the Intensive Care team has enrolled your loved one without your or your loved one’s knowledge, let alone informed consent into a medical research study!
The very positioning of the Intensive Care team of your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis and prognosis is often dependent on whether the Intensive Care team can do medical research or not!
It means that your critically ill loved one is being part of a medical research study at this very moment and it could mean that your critically ill loved one is getting treatment that hasn’t been proven to be effective. It means that the Intensive Care team is testing treatment on real human beings without knowing the outcomes as yet!
Do you think that you, your Family and your critically ill loved one can ever, even only for minute afford to be at the “mercy” of the Intensive Care team?
Do you think that you, your Family and your critically ill loved one can even only for one minute allow the Intensive Care team to make decisions that serves their hidden agenda and their hidden agenda only if your critically ill loved one is either
Do you think that if your critically ill loved one is in one of those situations that you and your Family can really afford to not have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST?
If you have only answered “YES” to even one of the aforementioned challenging questions then you need to get the ultimate guide for Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care,
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
If you do, then things will change for you very quickly, the Intensive Care team will notice and will treat you, your Family and your critically ill loved one very differently and you will have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
Having a leverage tool in your hands
When you sign up for
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
you and your Family will have a leverage tool in your hands that will give you PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST, period!
You and your Family will have an unfair advantage compared to those other 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence and who will never see the light of the day!
You and your Family can finally be in a position where you don’t need to be a ”victim” of your critically ill loved one’s situation anymore! You can finally tap into your own power and you can finally have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
Think about it. How many of the 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who have no PEACE OF MIND, who have no control, no power and no influence are the victims of their and their critically ill loved one’s situation?
The answer is that pretty much all of them are in a position where they happily play the role of a “victim”, by continuously being intimidated by the Intensive Care team’s “perceived power” and by their “perceived authority”!
Those families of critically ill Patients who have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence, continue to make excuses why they think that they can’t have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence and those Families continue to blame things that they think are beyond their control instead of focusing on the things that they can control, such as
- looking “BEHIND THE SCENES” in Intensive Care
- looking at their own behaviour and changing it
- looking at proven strategies how they can manage the Intensive Care team so that the Intensive Care team can’t manage you!
- looking at improving their body language, which is counterintuitive but very powerful
- looking at changing their ways to look at the situation differently
- looking at finding ways to turn the situation around in your favour and not let anything stop you from doing so
- looking at ways how you can ask the right questions
- looking at ways so that you are in control, have power, influence and PEACE OF MIND irrespective of the situation your critically ill loved one is facing and irrespective of the positioning that the Intensive Care team has
- challenging the Intensive Care team’s assumptions
- You and your Family will be in a position- for the first time ever in history- to direct the destiny and fate of your critically ill loved one!
- Why do you think that so far when you were looking for information about Intensive Care and critical illness, all you found on the Internet was a medical research paper from doctors for doctors?
- Why do you think that those medical research papers are written in medical jargon and medical language that you as a Family member of a critically ill Patient in Intensive Care don’t understand?
- Why do you think that open, transparent and Family friendly information has not been made available by any Intensive Care Unit, by any Intensive Care doctor or by any University?
- Why do you think that all the academic and scientific people within the Intensive Care team don’t talk in every day plain language to you that you can understand?
- Why do you think medical research papers are so prevalent all over the Internet and easy to digest information in everyday plain and simple language, the one you get here is so hard to come by?
- Why do you think that no Intensive Care Unit and no Intensive Care team doesn’t even mention PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence for Families of critically ill Patients?
- Why do you think the Intensive Care team is giving Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care little or no support and basically leave them on their own to deal with this massive “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” challenge of having a loved one critically ill in Intensive Care?
- Why do you think the Intensive Care team is trying to avoid those hot topics such as end of life, death, quality of life, future quality of life, medical research and many other burning questions that you and your Family have and are afraid to ask because you are worried that you look stupid?
- Why do you think that there is no or little transparency when it comes to Intensive Care?
- Why do you think that the Intensive Care team continues to have no or very little time for you and for your Family?
- Why do you think that the Intensive Care team speaks over you and at you rather than entering into a genuine dialogue with you?
Well, I’m sure that by now you know all the answers to those questions, because once again, the Intensive Care team has a lot to lose and there is a lot at stake in this “high stakes” game!
And what’s at stake for the Intensive Care team is by far more important than your critically ill loved one’s diagnosis or prognosis!
What’s at stake for the Intensive Care team is by far more important than your sanity and your level of PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence!
What’s at stake here is really how the Intensive Care team can continue to drive their hidden agenda and what’s at stake is how the Intensive Care team can continue to
- maximize their revenue $$$, minimize or optimize their expenses and maintain their financial budget targets
- manage their scarce, precious, expensive and “in-demand” ICU beds effectively so that the most profitable Patients can occupy their ICU beds
- treat those Patients that are the most interesting to the Intensive Care team
- perform medical research on some Patients and not on others so that they can continue to attract 5, 6 or even 7 $$$ Dollar per year funding and also publish more medical research that is self serving and most often not in the name and not in the best interest of those critically ill Patients and their Families
- treat some Patients where they perceive treatment as being “sexy” such as treating Patients where they can use fancy and high tech equipment such as ECMO, the latest fancy ventilator, balloon pumps and other high-tech equipment that gets the Intensive Care team excited and they forget the human and caring element when dealing with such high tech stuff
- Because Intensive Care teams like dealing with the latest “sexy” technology and equipment they also often forget about the suffering that you and your Family are experiencing! Intensive Care teams often fully focus on the technical and equipment aspects of the care and treatment and they totally neglect and ignore your pain, your frustration, your overwhelm, your anxieties, your stress and your vulnerability !
- The human and caring aspect in the high technology environment that is Intensive Care is an area where many Intensive Care teams have forgotten to evolve. This is rather evident in some end of life situations where the caring aspect has gone out of the window and Intensive Care teams ”don’t want to get their hands dirty” so to speak. They often leave dying Patients and their Families in Intensive Care to their own devices, by not talking to them, by not fully and openly informing them about what is really happening, let alone getting them involved in an open and transparent decision making process. Therefore you simply can not afford to not have PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence FAST!
And I know you might say, “yes” I can clearly see that

you and your Family continue to be frustrated, you’ll continue to be in pain, you continue to suffer, you continue to be vulnerable and you continue to be at the mercy of the Intensive Care team!
You continue to have no PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence!
Worst of all, you and your Family still have no clue about whether your critically ill loved one is getting the best treatment and care available there is.
You and your Family continue to be in a position where the Intensive Care team will keep the upper hand, they keep playing around with your emotions and they keep driving their hidden agenda continuously and relentlessly forward!
You also know that if your critically ill loved one is in a situation where they are
- very unstable and in a very critical condition
- in a life threatening situation
- in Intensive Care for long-term treatments and long-term stays
- having a severe(traumatic) head or brain injury
- threatened with an “NFR”(Not for resuscitation) or “DNR”(Do not resuscitate) order
- In a situation where the Intensive Care team suggests a “withdrawal of treatment” or a “limitation of treatment” as being “IN THE BEST INTEREST” of your critically ill loved one
- approaching their end of life in Intensive Care
that you and your Family don’t have much time! In fact, time is your enemy!
If you and your Family don’t take control of this situation now, if you and your Family don’t get your hands on information that is tailor made for your, for your Family’s and your critically ill loved one’s situation then you will end like the 99% of Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care who will never have PEACE OF MIND, no control, no power and no influence!

The change in the health status of a family member as a major stress factor in life and that could be anything. It could be a flu, it could by a mental illness, it could be a broken arm, a swollen leg etc…
But the reality is that if even minor changes in the health status of Family members are classified as a “major stress factor” in life, what is critical illness classified as?
It sounds to me that the category and classification of stress when having a loved one critically ill in Intensive Care hasn’t even been invented yet!

And I hear you, you might say, it’s great that you say it worked for you, but will it work for me?
And I also hear you that you say, why is it your strategies that I should listen to and why shouldn’t I listen to anybody else?
And I also hear you that you say, why is it that your strategies are proven?
And look to be clear, the reason why it worked for me and for many other Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care is simply, that I had many challenges myself when I went through the trauma of losing my uncle in Intensive Care when I was a teenager.
And I faced even more challenges and psychological trauma when I first started working in Intensive Care as an Intensive Care nurse.
At first I had massive issues dealing with critical illness, death, the mental and the emotional drama that I was surrounded by!
I was working with toxic people who were cynical, because they had developed no coping strategies in order to do their work professionally and with empathy and compassion!
Everybody around them suffered because of this toxic and cynical environment!
If I was to survive and even thrive in this environment, which was my goal, I had to come up with ideas and strategies in order to become a physically and emotionally healthy professional!
I certainly didn’t want to end up like my cynical and toxic colleagues who had little or no empathy and compassion for either the critically ill Patients or their families!
In any case, the more I put my heart and my soul into my work, the more lives I touched and the more lives I changed!
The more families I came into contact with in Intensive Care through my clinical work and through my website and showed them, counselled and consulted them how they can get PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence really FAST, the more I learned to put this in a framework!
The more positive feedback I got from Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care that my strategies are giving them results, leverage and most of all PEACE OF MIND, control, power and influence, the more I knew that
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
was the answer to the struggles, the challenges, the fears, the frustrations, the anxieties and the vulnerabilities Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care face all day long!
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
Is something that Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care desperately need!
The more positive feedback I got from Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care and the more I developed, fine tuned and honed the strategies that I developed, the more I felt that I would be doing families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care a disservice if I wasn’t going to make
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
publicly available!
I knew that if I didn’t make
“THE FAST LANE FOR PEACE OF MIND, CONTROL, POWER AND INFLUENCE WHEN YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!”
