In this week’s BLOG I want to share with you
BE MORE SELFISH IF YOUR LOVED ONE IS CRITICALLY ILL IN INTENSIVE CARE!
If your loved one has been admitted to Intensive Care the last thing on your mind is usually yourself and your needs! The whole world appears to revolve around your critically ill loved one and their needs!
But guess what, what about your needs? What about the stress that you’re going through? It’s bad enough that your critically ill loved one is in Intensive Care and requires treatment there.
You’re already putting your heart and soul in there
But you don’t need to put more than your heart and soul into supporting your critically ill loved one in Intensive Care and I’m all for holding hands and talking to your loved one, even if he or she is in an induced coma!
It certainly helps your loved one hearing a familiar voice throughout their stay in Intensive Care, however one of the biggest mistakes Family members of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care make is that they don’t look after themselves properly during this stressful and overwhelming time whilst their critically ill loved one is in Intensive Care.
And guess what, this is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make and you’re not only harming yourself and the rest of your Family, you’re also harming your loved one who’s critically ill if you’re not more selfish!
It’s OK to be more selfish, whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care!
And why is it OK?
It’s OK because, even though it’s counterintuitive to be more selfish whilst your loved one is critically ill in Intensive Care, you need to be more selfish to be able to give more of yourself during the times when you are with your critically ill loved one in Intensive Care! Your critically ill loved one can feel your positive vibes or also feel your negative vibes coming from you, depending on your emotional state, when you are with your loved one in Intensive Care!
And you will give positive vibes off, if you have been looking after yourself and if you have been more selfish and you will give negative vibes from you, if you if you haven’t been looking after yourself! Your critically ill loved one will feel whether you send positive or negative vibes from you, even though he or she is in an induced coma!
Your are making some mistakes that you’re unaware of!
Many Families of critically ill Patients in Intensive Care make some big mistakes that they are unaware of and they generally spend too much time with their critically ill loved one and they spend day and night in Intensive Care, only to find that they are running out of fuel, energy and out of steam very fast!
Find out what mistakes you are making, but you’re unaware of by clicking this link here
Go for a massage and grab a cup of coffee!
Don’t make those mistakes and be more selfish instead! Treat yourself well and go for a massage, go for a coffee and do whatever makes your world go round in order to feel good! Make sure you get a good night’s sleep, it can make all the difference!
Also keep in mind, you’re in it for the long run and your loved one will also need you and your Family, when he or she is out of Intensive Care and when your loved one is more conscious, he or she will need you the most and you certainly want to give off some positive vibes then! And you can only be positive, strong and feeling recuperated if you have been selfish!
Make sure your Family is looked after as well!
I know that you probably not only have your critically ill loved one in Intensive Care to worry about and you also have a Family to look after, whether it’ll be your children, your parents, your husband, wife etc… so you certainly don’t live in a vacuum, but take the time to be more selfish and then you’ll feel so much better and stronger to deal with whatever this difficult and challenging situation is throwing at you, at your Family and at your critically ill loved one in Intensive Care!
